In 1995, Travis and Renee Conners purchased Rental Express. At that time, it was located south of Indian River. They had a complete line of rental tools and equipment and began offering snowmobile rentals in Michigan - the first in the area to do so.

In the fall of that year they started building a new facility on the north end of town, and by August 1996 they relocated their business.

This new location gave the company more space inside and outside, and was much closer to Interstate 75, making it more convenient for customers. They quickly became an Arctic Cat dealer and eventually a Yamaha dealer, making it the largest Arctic Cat and Yamaha dealership in the area.

In 2007, they sold the tool and equipment rental portion of the business as well as the name. In 2009, they began building a new facility under the name of Indian River Sports Center, which would soon offer pontoon, jet ski and snowmobile rentals in the area. The new location was a step closer to Interstate 75, and the building is located on the corner of Old 27 (S. Straits Hwy) and I-75 at Exit 313, hence the phone number, 877-313-EXIT.

Once again, this move provided much more retail space both inside and out. Customers really appreciate the outside parking area, as there is plenty of room for trucks with snowmobile trailers to move about. The facility is now 14,000 square ft., with plenty of space to display all of Yamaha, Arctic Cat snowmobiles and ATVs, Tahoe Pontoons, Crownline, Yamaha and Quiet Kat Ebikes as well as a full line of clothing and accessories from Yamaha, Klim, 509, HELLY HANSEN, CHOKO, YETI.

Their plans are to add a dirt track behind the facility for demo rides. With both Travis and Renee being avid snowmobilers, it is this love and passion for the sport that drives their vision of making Indian River Sports Center the best power sports dealership in all Northern Michigan.

In the future, they hope to keep this a family-owned business.  For now, they continue offering jet ski, pontoon and snowmobile rentals, as well as both new and used snowmobile sales and ATV sales to all of their loyal customers, sharing their passion for outdoor powersports with all of northern Michigan.
